About Me

**Offering telehealth EMDR therapy for adult clients within the state of Washington** One of my foundational beliefs is that, as humans, we all long to be understood and accepted. We long to be able to express our deepest and truest selves and have those selves be celebrated by the people around us, our community. In my practice, I strive to create a safe space for you to be able to explore your life experiences, and what that experience has taught you about yourself, your inherent worth, and what you are allowed to need or want. Psychological safety and support is of the utmost importance when we are untangling the complex impact of trauma, especially trauma due to marginalization and systemic oppression. From this place of safety, it becomes possible to examine the "life lessons" you may have internalized from past experiences, from culture and society, and from family and peers, and process how your core beliefs and related experiences have affected your ability to live your life to the fullest. Since 2015, I have had the privilege to work with clients in private practice as well as community health settings, including offering therapy in clients' homes and schools. My strong interest in trauma work led me to pursue additional training in EMDR, with a special focus on complex trauma and traumatic grief. I currently offer telehealth individual therapy services for adults, as well as short-term assessment services (2-3 sessions) for clients seeking a letter of support for gender-affirming surgery. When doing individual therapy, I primarily use EMDR as a modality for my practice. Although EMDR was originally developed as a therapy for severe trauma, it also provides a holistic model for understanding how our past experiences shape our current reality and what kind of future we believe is possible. I also love to lean into mindfulness, somatic, or narrative techniques to help you more fully integrate what you are learning about yourself. In addition to EMDR, I have a passion for psychoeducation around ADHD and autism and love to explore different aspects of neurodivergence with clients. For neurodivergent clients, individual therapy might look like a combination of deep work and pragmatic problem-solving and skill-building. No matter where you are on your neurodivergent journey, I hope I can help you love your neurodivergent brain even more! In all my therapeutic work, I use a collaborative approach where we work together to identify your existing strengths and resources and then build on those as we work through the issues that are currently causing you distress. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an essential part of this process because healing and transformation can only happen in an environment of honesty and trust. I also believe human beings are oriented towards wholeness and healing the way sunflowers turn towards the light. Sometimes all we need is someone who can travel with us for a little way on our journey until we feel confident that we can continue on our own.
