About Me
Michelle specializes in working with individuals who have experienced or are navigating trauma, abuse and anxiety. Michelle has extensive training and experience in treating PTSD and trauma symptoms, as well as other common co-occurring symptoms including anxiety, depression, dissociation, perinatal mental health, and other behavioral disorders. Michelle utilizes a solution-focused brain-based approach to stabilizing from and recovering from trauma. Michelle is an EMDR Consultant, trained by Postpartum Support International in Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders, and DBT trained.
Education & Experience
Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from McMurry University. She earned her Masters in Social Work with a specialty in direct practice with children and families from University of Texas at Arlington. Michelle has devoted her career to supporting trauma survivors heal. After serving a year in New Zealand with local non-profits and faith communities, Michelle discovered her desire to foster growth for those trying to heal from past experiences and discover their way forward. Michelle's clinical practicum was with a local domestic violence agency providing therapy and case management services to survivors of intimate partner violence. For over 10 years, Michelle worked for New Friends New Life providing program leadership, individual and group therapy, and case management services to women healing from sex trafficking or sexual exploitation.
