About Me
I approach therapy with a supportive, and non-judgmental stance, and a commitment to provide you with the best support possible. As a certified EMDR therapist I specialize in helping people overcome issues that are holding them back in life, this includes treating trauma and the problems that often come with it such as: anxiety, depression, PTSD, and "just feeling stuck". In addition to EMDR I practice general talk therapy, relational therapy, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness training. My experience with these different treatment approaches has helped my clients resolve a wide range of trauma and mood related concerns. The best part of my job is seeing the people I work with overcome struggles and difficult experiences to create the type of life they want to live. Over the past 9 years, I've been fortunate to work with people of varied backgrounds and life experiences. This has included working with other LGBTQ people, and with people of color. Working with a diverse group of clients has informed my practice and made me a better therapist. Whether you're looking to make changes, decrease symptoms or resolve your past I'd welcome the opportunity to work with you
Education & Experience
I graduated with a masters degree in Social Work from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2011, where I also received an undergraduate degree in Psychology. I completed my training in EMDR in 2015 and have been using EMDR as my primary therapeutic treatment since. It has been an amazing process to see EMDR help people overcome so many different issues. In my practice I have used EMDR to address a wide variety experiences including: abuse & neglect, abandonment, anxiety, physical and sexual violence, phobias, accident exposure among others. In addition to the standard EMDR protocol I am trained in both the modified protocol and the early childhood protocol. I'm an EMDRIA approved consultant and I enjoy supporting other clinicians in learning and refining their proficiency with EMDR. Besides EMDR I utilize traditional talk therapy, relational therapy, CBT, DBT and mindfulness approaches in my practice.
