About Me
Hi, I'm Elyse, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for helping adults navigate life's challenges and build a healthier, more balanced life. Clients who work best with me tend to yearn awakening and change. I specialize in a blend of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), EFT Tapping and Mindfulness techniques, tailored to meet the unique needs of each of my clients. In therapy, I believe in a collaborative, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered. I work with clients to help them understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and together, we create strategies for change. These strategies include helping you develop an understanding of why you have been "stuck in a rut" and then establishing healthy coping skills to begin using immediately. Change, while challenging, is entirely possible and well worth it! In addition to being a therapist, I am also a wife and mother to 2 sons. I am a lover of all things dog (I have a golden retriever who frequents my office), nature and spiritual practice. In my free time, I enjoy exercise, spending a time outside with the people I love, yoga, TikTok (who doesn't?) and traveling whenever and wherever I can.
Education & Experience
I began my journey in 2008 while a baccalaureate student at the University of Pittsburgh studying social work, and servicing Allegheny County's Older Adult Services, and volunteering with those who have serious and persistent mental illness at The People's Oakland. I then graduated with a Master's Degree in Direct-Practice Social Work in 2010 and continued my work with the county before moving into bedside/in-home hospice care services. In 2012, I transitioned full-time working to a psychiatric hospital-based social worker. In 2016, I began practicing psychotherapy, first in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Eventually, I moved to private practice and branched out on my own in 2021. I specialize in working with those who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma related impact and codependent relationship cycles. I welcome the opportunity to help individuals create the best versions of themselves.
