I’m honored to support you on your journey toward healing and growth. As a licensed professional counselor, registered art therapist, and certified perinatal mental health specialist, I bring a unique blend of expertise and compassion to my work. My passion lies in helping individuals navigate the challenges of trauma, with a special focus on perinatal mental health—supporting individuals during the transformative journey of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. I understand that seeking therapy is a deeply personal and courageous step. My approach is rooted in creating a safe, nurturing space where you can explore your experiences, reconnect with your inner strengths, and find tools to move forward with greater resilience and hope. Whether you're coping with an eating disorder, anxiety, depression, past trauma, or adjusting to the profound changes of parenthood, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy and evidence-based care.
Education & Experience
Alanna received her BA in Studio Art from The University of Mary Washington and her M.A in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from The George Washington University. Following graduation, Alanna worked in a variety of acute care and outpatient settings in the treatment of eating disorders, crisis psychiatric care, trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. Alanna completed her PMH-C certification through Postpartum Support International and has completed advanced training in Birth Trauma and Body Image during the perinatal period. Alanna has also completed advanced training in eating disorders focused on embodied/somatic interventions, exposure, body image, and art therapy in eating disorder treatment. Alanna completed her EMDR Basic Training in 2024 and will pursue official credentialing through EMDRIA.
