Education & Experience
I have a Ph.D. in Complementary Integral Health with a concentration in Transpersonal Psychology and take a whole-person approach to treatment that honors the role of mind, body, and spirit. For my dissertation, I performed a qualitative research study of EMDR therapy on the lived experience of trauma resolution, from the perspectives of clients. I also have an M.A. in Existential Phenomenological Therapeutic Psychology. I've worked in several evidenced-based family therapy models and draw on interventions that are targeted and focused on strengths. In addition I utilize dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) as well as a range of mindfulness-based coping skills. I also have a post-master's certificate from JFK University for treating eating disorders. I have over 25 years experience in community mental health providing individual and family therapy, clinical supervision, training, consultation, and program development. I am currently in private practice in Oakland, CA.
