About Me

Hey there! I’m Leana Torrez, a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and the proud founder and owner of Let’s Talk Psychotherapy. I created this practice with one goal in mind—to provide a safe, supportive, and culturally competent space for healing. My goal is to help you navigate life’s challenges with more self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional stability—so you can build a life that feels fulfilling and aligned with who you truly are.

Education & Experience

I earned my Associate of Arts from Miami Dade College before completing a Bachelor's in Psychology and Religious Studies at the University of Miami (Go Canes!) and a Master’s in Science from Nova Southeastern University. During my internship at Aventura Hospital, I worked with psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses to develop treatment plans, assess crises, and provide trauma-informed care. This experience reinforced the importance of quick intervention, compassionate support, and strong community resources. I then transitioned to community-based therapy, supporting survivors of domestic violence, trauma, and immigration-related distress. I facilitated therapy and support groups while collaborating with attorneys to advocate for clients under VAWA. I also worked with families in crisis, helping them rebuild stability after trauma. With nearly a decade of experience, I prioritize seeing the whole person—not just their diagnosis—by tailoring therapy to their unique experiences, strengths, and cultural identity.
