About Me

I love providing EMDR treatment as one option for helping clients move forward after traumatic or difficult events or childhoods. This therapy can often help clients who feel stuck get traction and then relief, sometimes even after years of doing other types of therapies and feeling a lingering mismatch between what they know/believe and how they feel. While some clients come in for single-incident trauma, I often end up working with clients with complex trauma (ie C-PTSD) and in these cases we often utilize parts work as a supplement to EMDR therapy (or on its own if a client is not doing EMDR reprocessing). Additionally, we can use EMDR to bring relief and symptom reduction when clients have aspects of OCD, Phobia(s), and/or Panic Disorder in the mix.

Education & Experience

I have a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Wake Forest University where I graduated in 2012. I have been seeing clients since I began my graduate level internship in 2011 and over time developed my current primary specialty in trauma & PTSD treatment for adults. This specialty really took root for me when I completed training to offer EMDR therapy in my practice and it has only further blossomed as I've been able to receive advanced training over the years in areas like TSDP Parts Work.
