About Me

Michelle Wonders, MS, LMFT, is the Owner of Mission Oaks Counseling & Wellness Center, Inc. I has over thirty years of experience in psychotherapy, which has included therapy for individuals, couples and families. She has a specialization in the treatment of trauma and mood disorders. Michelle has received certification for advanced level training for E.M.D.R. She has been practicing E.M.D.R. for over 29 years. She has developed an interest in integrating the areas of brain (neurobiology), mindfulness and relationships with others into her work as a therapist. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She received the Chancellor’s Marshal Award in recognition for outstanding University and community service. She also holds a Master of Science Degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling with Distinction. She is an active member of The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She promotes her desire to educate others by supervising M.F.T. interns and teaching workshops throughout her career. Her interests outside of work include spending time with her family at home, gardening, cooking, running, traveling, and being with her Labrador retrievers.
