Approved for 12 EMDRIA Credits
This course is designed for clinicians committed to anti-oppressive and decolonizing practices, offering a transformative approach to the 8-phase EMDR standard protocol. The course will critically examine how systemic oppressive approaches and historical trauma shape therapy participants’ experiences, identities, and healing journeys. Through collaborative learning participants will explore ways to adapt EMDR to honor the wisdom, resilience, and lived realities of those intentionally marginalized by oppressive systems. Each phase will be examined through a liberatory lens, integrating ancestral and culturally grounded healing practices. This interactive training will include small group practicums, large group discussions, and expressive arts-based reflection to deepen learning and embodiment of decolonized therapeutic approach.
