This live webinar will provide an overview of IFS and EMDR around memory reconsolidation within the window of dual attention. It explains how dual attention and bilateral stimulation implicate the hippocampus, and the relevance of allocentric cognitive mapping to trauma and trauma recovery.
From there it prepares students for more advanced integration courses by introducing EMDR therapists to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. It outlines concerns about using EMDR with complex clients, reviews the historic need to supplement EMDR with an Ego State model, lists the unique advantages of IFS as an Ego State model, and describes the essential concepts of the IFS model. Live demonstrations with student volunteer. Presented via zoom simultaneously in English, Russian and Kazakh languages.
Presenter: Bruce Hersey, LCSW
